Door in disguise alert! It was really rewarding to come up with a creative solution to maintain the aesthetics of this family room. When we saw what a traditional door would look like to this primary suite we knew we could make it look even better by mimicking the trim detail on the other side of the fireplace so that is exactly what we did and a hidden door was born at our #ARI_eastcoastonsunset clients home. This room was dubbed the Flex Room on the architectural drawings so naturally that is what we called it. Today is move in day for this family! We are thrilled for them and excited to share more photos of their new home. Our client had the vision for this fireplace before building even began. After going from stone to plaster, talking through the actual difference between fluted and reeded and fixating on several styrofoam samples, we loved watching it take shape as the focal point of the foyer and family room.
